3 Regular Sanitization Services You Need To Keep Your Swimming Pool Healthy

A swimming pool is a great asset to have. It improves the quality of your life as you cool off under the sun, relaxing or enjoying time with friends and family. However, fun and games aside, it's vital that you maintain your pool by keeping it clean & hygienic at all times. This ensures that your pool does not become a health hazard without you knowing it. In general, there are three sanitization services needed for your pool to be safe for human use. Is your pool getting all of them? Read all about them below.

Pool cleaning

There are several levels of cleaning needed for your swimming pool. First, your pool structure itself needs cleaning. This removes soft dirt that has attached itself to the walls and floor of your pool. This dirt can be best removed through manual or robotic suction cleaners. These eliminate the need to empty the pool or have someone get inside. Two, your pool filter needs to be inspected. The filter membranes also need to be cleaned and replaced to ensure all the solid dirt collected (hairs, fibers, grit) doesn't accumulate in the filter.

Chlorine testing and balancing

Apart from the solid dirt you can see in your pool, there are other things that you cannot observe visually. This includes bacteria from people, water, the pool itself, rainwater and more. To ensure your water is really clean, application of chlorine is needed (there are other methods, but chlorine is the most common). Chlorine sanitizes the water, making it safe for your use. Chlorine can be introduced into the pool manually or through a chlorinator machine. If you have a chlorinator, it should be inspected regularly to ensure your pool water is getting the right amounts of chlorine.

PH testing & balancing

The other component of your pool water that you need to maintain regularly is the pH balance. This refers to the acidity and alkalinity of the water. Too much of either, and your water will not be safe. Your pool structures will start corroding or your skin will itch after being in the pool. Also, imbalance in pH levels can affect the efficiency of chlorine. The pH balance should be maintained by either adding pool acid or soda ash to correct any imbalance.

A pool maintenance service can undertake all three for you, servicing your pool on a regular basis as per your pool use and needs. This way, your pool will never be neglected and you can indulge in it with complete peace of mind.
